Roberta Younce was referred to The Piggyback Foundation by Ernsthausen Recreational Center. Roberta was just recovering and returning home from a battle with acute liver failure. Her children were looking forward to being back in their own home and getting involved with soccer and the recreational center.
The Piggyback Foundation was able to pay their soccer fees and supply soccer shoes for all three of her children, Kallie, Skylar and Draven Vick.
For a special celebration, the children wrote descriptions of their dream bedroom.
Six year old Draven hoped for a room with a campfire theme and camouflage bedding.
Skylar, age nine, wanted a room with moons and stars and butterflies.
Her twin sister, Kallie, requested a dream room with angels and a gate opening to heaven. She likes angels because they watched over her mommy and are making her better.
The Piggyback Foundation provided new bedding, pillows and wall decorations to help redecorate the Vick children’s bedrooms into their Dream Rooms! Blankets were made for each of the children and as soon as they were received, The children wrapped themselves up in comfort and softness.
Gas Gift Certificates, Dominoes Pizza and a visit to Christian Roberts Salon were also provided.
The Piggyback Foundation is blessed to have so many wonderful volunteers who are willing to step up and make things happen for families in need.
