The Piggyback Foundation

The Harkness Family was referred to PBF by Sue Niebler in August 2008. Ken under went emergency open heart surgery on August 8th after he was Life Flighted to St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo. He nearly lost his life due to the tear in his aorta. After suffering from complications he was unconscious for almost eight weeks. With the many prayers and good care Ken received at St. Vincent's, he is now recovering.

The Piggyback Foundation was able to help Ken's family through this difficult time by providing weekly meals, groceries and gas cards. Kara and Kendra, Ken and Kim's twin daughters, celebrated their 9th birthday, during this difficult time. PBF was able to help with presents and a gift card to McDonald's! Victory Honda was able to help with oil changes for their car. With the daily travels to Toledo this was a valuable help. First Presbyterian Church preschoolers sent Ken get well cards to encourage his recovery. Kara and Kendra are thrilled to have their Dad back!

Dear Piggyback Foundation,
Thank-you so much for your continued support. Words cannot express my gratitude enough. My kids and I love the food and the gas cards, grocery cards, phone cards and oil change were appreciated so much!! Ken will know someday how much you all helped us through this tragic time. God has blessed us by giving Ken back to us and by sending you to us.

Thanks Again and God Bless you ALL,
Love,
The Harkness Family
